Present (A Christmas Short Film) | Miri Short Film

This is a very interesting short film produced by a local talented production team. Just met a group of enthusiastic young people who love art so much. As one sponsors of the film, I was invited to their premiere. They asked me why did I stay in Miri, a small town in Sarawak whereas I could have done better if I pursued my career in a bigger cities like KL or Kuching or aboard. Guess what was my answer? Frankly speaking, I have been asked so many times previously. Many people did not understand why I chose to come back after spending 15 years in Australia, whereas others were fighting for the chance to leave Malaysia hoping they have a better opportunity in other countries? I was granted a PR status. Both of my children are Australian citizens. However, it has always been the same answer: " Because this is my home town and Sarawak is my motherland. I am a Malaysian. I wish to serve my people because they need me more than those developed countries with advanced medical system. " I believe that if you were a gem, no matter where you were, you would always be shinny as ever. Only if we create a value to ourself , then we could influence the world. To change a big world, start from a little me.
